Ann Arbor Beer Ride

Crank-n-Stein rides to Ann arbor to drink Beer.

August 13th we left Macomb to ride to Ann Arbor to visit 3 breweries.

Riders
- MossyCastle
- Irish Car Bomb

Departutre time 8am. Total miles 72.

It was a great ride on the way out. We got off on time an headed out on Romeo Plank to 24 mile road. Hopping on the Macomb Orchard trail was uneventful. Riding out to Pontiac was the usual grind. From the starting point to Pontiac was a gradual climb of 300 feet over 20 miles.

Once through the best parts of Pontiac we rode on length of the west Bloomfield trail. I will be happy once the extension of this trail is done, as it will help get us off more roads.

Pontiac Trail road, well we probably shouldn't have taken the super swell detour that was posted. We got so distracted we missed the left turn on to Century to find the beginning of the Huron Valley Trail (AKA South Lyon Rail Trail). We rode on Pontiac trail until we found Milford road. Hooked a left under I96 and rode until we actually found the South Lyon Trail. 3 miles longer and we where in South Lyon with 49 miles under our belts.

We ate lunch in Lake Street tavern, we had the place to ourselves. After a sandwich and a Huma Lupalicous Ale later we were on the last stretch into Ann Arbor.

This section was pretty rural, surprising since A2 was only 12-15 miles away. Good for us. the road where rolling dirt. I was getting pretty tired at this point and took a few breaks. Once we turned right back on to Pontiac Trail, again, it was smooth riding into Town. The nice thing about A2 id all the bike lanes to keep the traffic away from us.

Our first Destination awaited us... Grizzly Peak Brewing Co. After rehydrating a little we made our last 4 miles to the Hotel to get washed up and back into town for dinner and additional beverages.

Ride on....
